A thermal metric developed using the day-to-day temperature variability framework that was previously applied to east coast of China has been adapted for Canadian climate station data. The same metric, based on minimum day, able distinguish between coastal and inland stations, especially when winter months December, January February, were removed from analysis. While threshold distinguished two groups different than China, it nonetheless unambiguous. range latitudes in setting sufficiently narrow a latitude correction, as performed not required. comparison with more traditional measure continentality suggests performs better at identifying coastal/continental nature This work also nuanced treatment should be considered all such measures colder climates.
